Wakefield Peregine Falcons

For over five years, peregrine falcons have nested at the top of Wakefield Cathedral with over a dozen offspring produced. Eggs are generally laid in March or April and hatch in May.

These two great webcam views show the nest itself and view from the spire of the cathedral where the birds often pirch. Surprisingly the noise of the bells from the tower doesn’t bother the birds at all!
