Restless Temple Sculpture near Penzance

There are some weird and wonderful things in Penzance, Cornwall and the one that tops the bill is the Restless Temple.

Looking as if it would be more at home on a Greek or Roman hill than a Cornish one, the columns of the Restless Temple serve as a monument to British artistic ingenuity that serves no other purpose than to confound, confuse and discombobulate the brain of anyone viewing it. It’s almost akin to looking at the Parthenon during an earthquake.

By the way – it’s only weird and wonderful when the wind blows so pray for blustery weather. Shame it doesn’t play music like a giant wind chime and then it would be much more entertaining to watch.
