Koh Tao Island Webcam

If a holiday in Thailand is on your bucket list, but you’ve yet to gather together enough funds to make your dreams a reality, dream no more. Thanks to Scuba Birds, you no longer need to imagine what it would be like to sit on a beach on Koh Tao, you can get the exact same view via this live feed.

Forget seeing swathes of sweeping sand, there’s none of that, but this view does deliver big time on seascapes and maritime traffic which is what you’d be looking at if you were on the beach slouched on a sunlounger. Located in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Tai is a twenty-one square kilometre paradise. Translated from the Thai language to English, the island’s name means Turtle Island and with good reason. The island has for a long time been a favourite breeding ground for several species of turtle including green turtles and the critically endangered hawksbill.

Turtles aren’t the only type of marine life drawn to the shores of Koh Tai. Shoals of snorkelers and scuba divers swarm there to explore the coral reefs and the plenitude of aquatic creatures that inhabit the crystalline waters. The list of what you could see if you donned a snorkel or wetsuit is far too long to go into here, but think exciting stuff like manta rays, whale sharks and colourful nudibranchs as well as clownfish in abundance. If that doesn’t make you start saving harder for your Thai holiday then nothing will.

You don't have any favourites yet.
