Kobe City Skyline Webcam

Any serious carnivore, without a restrictive shopping or dining out budget, will be familiar with the name Kobe even if they’ve never travelled to Japan. This city has given its name to one of the most succulent types of beef available on the market, Kobe Wagyu, and is known worldwide for its production of the fatty meat. But, the question is, does this city have more than steak, and a not so interesting nighttime skyline, for anyone who prefers to leave the cows grazing in the fields and dine on veggies themselves? The answer to that is a resounding – yes.

Kobe is situated in a spectacular geographical location on Honshu Island which overlooks Osaka Bay and is backed by the Mount Rokko mountain range. This webcam view sadly doesn’t do Kobe’s setting justice so you’ll have to use your imagination to get the full picture or, alternatively, check out some Google images. It’s one of the busiest port cities in Japan and with over one and a half million residents, also ranks in the top ten of the country’s most populated.

Parts of the city were badly damaged in the mid-90s by an earthquake. That was a devastating event which is still remembered today and commemorated annually in December with an event known as the Luminare. Whether or not you’ll be able to view the light festival that takes place all over the city on this live feed or not is unknown so pop back in December and have a look.
