Johnnie Mercers Fishing Pier Webcams

Is there any better place in North Carolina to sling your hook than at Johnnie Mercers fishing pier? The answer to that is probably no.

Hopefully, Johnnie Mercers fishing pier will be more of a permanent fixture of Wrightsville Beach, a town on the state’s Atlantic coastline, than the town’s previous pier was. After the old wooden pier was battered by hurricanes, the townsfolk, namely Johnnie Mercers, got serious and built this three-hundred and sixty-five metre long one from reinforced concrete. When Wrightsville Beach residents want a pier, they get a pier and this one looks as though it will withstand just about anything the weather can throw at it. Whether the new pier has improved the fishing is something only the fishermen know. Even if they don’t hook anything more than seaweed, it’s a pleasant spot to get a breath of briny breeze and if you’re an early bird, to watch the sun rise over the ocean.
