Iron Horse Golf Club Webcam in Ashland
Ashland, a smallish city in the US state of Nebraska, may have a population that doesn’t exceed four thousand, but they’re folks who certainly know how to make the most of their spare time in the great outdoors. And they do that with a set of clubs and some small white balls.
While these days Ashland is considered to be a bedroom community to its larger neighbours, it is and always has been quintessentially a rural town. Forget networks of hiking trails winding through the surrounding countryside here though, they’re long gone. This countryside has been pampered to the hilt and turned into top-notch golfing greens. They may be hard to spot on this webcam view, but believe it, they are there, somewhere, closeted between the woods and the houses.
So far, to date, there hasn’t been any notable historic moments occuring in Ashland. But, just in case you’re curious, Ashland was named after the Kentucky plantation of a mid-19th century politician called Henry Clay Sr. He was a man who liked to gamble, but wasn’t overly good at it or running for the position of president. These days Ashland, unlike Mr. Clay, doesn’t need to hedge its bets as with a golf course like this, it’s an out and out winner.
