Gramado Mountain Resort Webcam
Unless you’re familiar with Gramado or have been fortunate enough to visit there then you can be forgiven for thinking the map location of this resort city is incorrect. It’s not. The dot on the map that is Gramada is exactly where it should be, which is in the Sierra Gaucha, a mountainous region of southern Brazil. Yes, Gramada does have the appearance of an alpine village and one that would not be out of place in Bavaria, but there’s a good reason for that.
Back in the late 19th century there was an influx of European settlers to the town. Both the Portuguese and the Italians left their mark on Gramada. The most notable, and one that still remains evident today was the German influence on the town’s architecture, but not so much its cultural activities though.
You can forget about swilling beer from steins at a replica Oktoberfest in Gramada. In Gramada they prefer to celebrate one of the world’s favourite sweet ingredients, chocolate, and they do it – big style. The city holds a huge festival honouring all things chocolate every year where the chocolate makers can show off their skills and products. Forget hiking the hills here, as if the festival wasn’t enough, the city also has a chocolate trail which leads you from one artisan chocolate shop to another. Yes, Gramada is a true chocoholic’s nirvana so if you love the stuff and haven’t been there yet, time to get packing.
