Glastonbury Festival Site Webcam
There’s a certain time of year when the peaceful Somerset scenery you can see on this webcam streamed by the BBC evolves into a not so peaceful scene of music, mayhem, and frequently, mud baths. Yes, this cam is focused on the farmland where the Glastonbury Festival takes place and has been taking place, on and off, since 1970.
1970 was the year when the first festival was held at Worthy Farm. It was in no way comparable in magnitude to the event which takes place now, but that initial event, attended by around one-thousand five hundred or so music lovers, was to be an auspicious moment for the organiser. While Glastonbury isn’t the biggest music festival in the world, it is the biggest to be held in the UK and is now regularly attended by over two-hundred thousand people.
Times that number by two and it adds up to a lot of wellington boots stomping over the grass fields. And wellington boots are invariably needed as, according to weather-related statistics, festivals that haven’t seen a downpour or two or more are very rare. If you’re planning on going to the next festival, forget checking the weather forecast, viewing local weather webcams or checking what-to-wear at Glastonbury websites, just don a pair of trendy welly boots and you’ll be fully prepared to have a great time.
