Eforie Resort Webcam from the Hotel Europa
If you’ve been scrolling through webcams searching for new locations to add to your I-want-to-go-there bucket list, you may well find Eforie interesting. That is until the cam pans round and you spot the weed-covered semi-stagnant pond at the back of the seafront hotels. If your first thought was mosquito breeding ground, you could well be right. But there’s always spray-on or plug-in bug repellents and let’s face it, no-one travels to Greece or Turkey without one, so don’t let that thought put you off.
Compared to other countries bordered by the Black Sea, Romania has a very short coastline. In fact, the county’s coastline in total measures less than two-hundred and fifty kilometres. So, yes, you guessed it, any resort area is going to be exploited to the max. That’s not such a bad thing though because as you can see on this live feed, the beach in Eforie is more than big enough to cater for the masses.
Not everyone heads to Eforie for budget-priced summertime sun and cheap food and drink. Eforie is the ideal base if you want to visit Lake Techirghiol and cover yourself in its therapeutic black mud. Lake Techirghiol isn’t as well-known as the Dead Sea, but its water also has a high salt content which, along with the mud, is reputedly beneficial for a number of health issues. For whatever reason you decide to add Eforie to your bucket list, be it bathing in mud or drowning your work day sorrows on cheap beer, make sure to try some cabbage rolls. They’re Romania’s national dish and not only nutritious, but totally delicious.
