Downtown Portland Webcam

The pioneers who first settled the Willamette Valley back in the mid-19th century wouldn’t recognise Portland as the same location they once called home. In just under two-hundred years that initial development on a patch of woodland has become a city with an urban reach covering over three-hundred and seventy square kilometres and is the most populated in the state of Oregon. But there’s still room for plenty of trees which is not a bad thing as they help keep the air suitably oxygenated for the city’s six-hundred and fifty thousand plus carbon dioxide exhaling residents.

While you can see the trees on this live feed, what you can’t see is Mount Hood. The reason for that is because the cam, which is located on Downtown Portland’s distinctive skyscraper, the KOIN Tower, is pointing in the wrong direction. Sadly you can’t get a glimpse of the thirty-five story, one-hundred and fifty-five metre high office block either. What you can see is what many of the people who work there get to look at through the window next to their desk and it’s a pretty decent view to say the least.

Portland Downtown is an avant garde neighbourhood that’s buzzing with life. Its streets are crammed with boutique stores, quality restaurants and trendy food carts, and the odd gallery or two as well as the city museum and a Chinese garden. Nope, you can’t see any of those on this live feed either so you’ll just have to make do with the buildings and the trees.

You don't have any favourites yet.
