Chester Railway Station & Museum
Chester is a town in the south-west of the state of Massachusetts with a hundred and fifty year plus involvement with the old Western Railroad. Don’t go off the rails with excitement, but you can view the trains passing right through there, just like they did in the old days, on the Chester Railway Station and Museum webcam.
The Chester Railway Station is an attractive white clapboard structure dating from the mid-nineteenth century. The historic building has been converted into a museum housing railroad memorabilia. The curators are railway aficionados and have built up an admirable collection of locomotive engines and carriages that are exhibited in the station grounds. Their pride and joy is a century-old renovated caboose which they rent out to campers wanting to make the most of the region’s stunning hiking trails.
