Brazilian Border Over the Friendship Bridge
The one thing you’ll have plenty of time for, if you’re driving over Friendship Bridge, the Ponte de Amizade in Paraguay, is to enjoy the view.
Friendship Bridge is a main border crossing from Paraguay to Brazil and stretches over the Parana River linking the Brazilian city of Foz de Iguacu with the Paraguayan city of Ciudad del Este. The bridge is well over half a kilometre long and has a main span measuring two-hundred and ninety metres. While you can’t see it on the cam, the actual border is about halfway across and marked by a hand-painted yellow line. Looks like the building of the bridge used up the entire budget and there was no spare cash left for a fancy – Welcome to Brazil or Goodby Paraguay – sign.
