Bergamo Skyline Webcam
When you look at this view of the Italian city of Bergamo you can almost hear the church bells ringing even though there’s no sound. It’s also easy to imagine how you’d break out in a sweat walking up to the Città alta, or upper town, on a warm summer’s day.
Bergamo’s Città alta dates back to the 16th century and is surrounded by walls built during mediaeval times by the Venetians that are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Within those ancient walls are numerous historical buildings like the Citadella and the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore that are even older. If you’ve ever dreamed of time travelling to the past then take a trip to the Città alta in Bergamo. You won’t need a DeLorean DMC just a comfortable pair of shoes and a bottle of cold water to sip on the way.
