Bedfordshire is an English county to the north of London with landscapes of rolling green hills dotted with quaint, old fashioned villages and plenty of grandiose stately homes dotted around here and there. That may sound very peaceful, but Bedfordshire also has a wild side and while it’s a very long way from Africa, it’s somewhere you can often hear lions roar. Thankfully most of the wild animals in Bedfordshire are in the enclosures at the Woburn Safari Park and at the ZSL Whipsnade Zoo so you’re not likely to run into any savage beasts wandering around the streets of the county’s towns.
