Bison Water Hole Cam at Grasslands National Park
The Grasslands National Park in central Canada is home to a growing number of one of the country’s most endangered species – the plains bison.
These massive lumbering bovines once inhabited the Canadian plains in huge numbers, but had virtually disappeared from existence by the late 19th century. Now gradually being reintroduced, after extensive breeding and conservation programs, they’re back from their century-long absence and grazing on the grasslands of Saskatchewan where they should be.
You can tell male bison from female ones on this live feed from the bison watering hole in the Grasslands National Park by checking the size of their horns. The males always have the biggest ones.
