Black Sabbath Bench Cam in Birmingham

If you clicked into this cam thinking you’d be viewing a Sunday church service attended by worshippers dressed in their best, but drab coloured outfits, well aren’t you in for a surprise. While this cam is focused on something that isn’t in the slightest religious, it does pay reverence to a certain four gods. The four gods of heavy metal that formed the band Black Sabbath.

Black Sabbath are probably the only notable claim to fame that the British city of Birmingham has had over the several centuries of its existence. The group hit the music scene of the late 1960s like the proverbial hurricane and continued to make tsunami-sized sound waves with their first three album releases. Considering their impact on the music industry and their audiences, a park bench tribute seems just a little tame, but a park bench is what they got. And they’ve had a canal bridge named after them as well which still seems somewhat understated for a band that rocked stadiums around the world.

The four head images attached to the bench depict the group members. Ozzy, Tony, Bill and Geezer, when they were at their peaks. Now they are all in their mid-70s, but old age and all the agues that come with it hasn’t stopped them in their tracks. Their farewell tour was back in 2017 and fans thought that was the end of that. It might not have been if rumours of an upcoming tour are true. Some advice to dedicated fans in their late 60s and early 70s planning to attend any concert that may occur, turn your hearing aids off, you won’t need them. And if you’re going to do some head banging, remember to remove your dentures because nobody wants false teeth embedded in the back of their head.
