Peñón de Ifach Webcam in Calpe

There are a lot of rocks that have become iconic landmarks over the centuries and because of their scenic appeal have become major tourist attractions. But, and it has to be said, not all rocks are in the same class when it comes to eye appeal.

While the Peñón de Ifach might not be as photogenic as Australia’s Twelve Apostles, it is, without a doubt, eye-catching. The Peñón de Ifach is a three-hundred and thirty odd metres high lump of limestone. Located on the Valencian coast of Spain, it overshadows the city of Calpe making even the tallest structure in the sprawling urbanisation below it appear minuscule.

The distant view of the Peñón de Ifach on this live feed may lead you to believe this grey massive is barren. Looks can be deceiving though as it’s anything but devoid of life. The Peñón de Ifach forms part of the Penyal d’Ifac Natural Park and is home to myriad bird and animal life as well as endangered species of plant life. So disregard your first impressions of the Peñón de Ifach as there’s definitely more to this craggy rock than, well, rock.
