Wales is a country renowned for its verdant hills and valleys. While those features of its landscape are undeniably attractive, Wales also has an extensive coastline that deserves a lot more attention.

For those who enjoy the odd statistic or two here’s a couple to ponder over. The Welsh coastline stretches for over two and a half thousand kilometres along the west side of the UK. That roughly calculates to around fifteen percent of the total British coastline. If you’re not into statistics, and it’s not too late, just skip reading the last paragraph.)

The views on this collection of webcams are being streamed from one of the more southerly points of the Welsh shoreline. It’s a point that faces out into the Bristol Channel and is blessed with a beautiful sandy beach which fronts the picturesque village of Broad Haven. The beach is a natural asset that’s helped develop the village into a popular, but albeit tranquil, seaside resort. Is that the only thing Broad Haven is famous for? No, it’s not.

Way back in the late 1970s Broad Haven hit the news headlines and gained a certain worldwide notoriety for being the location of a UFO sighting. Almost fifty odd years later, whether or not extraterrestrials ever really visited Broad Haven or not is still being debated. But if they did, or if they return one day, it’ll probably be because they heard how good the surfing is.
