Reno Arch Webcam

This could be one occasion when the nearby billboards are more interesting than the focus of the webcam. From this cam angle, Reno’s famous welcoming arch doesn’t look particularly exciting and even though this city in Nevada is renowned for its casinos, it’s got a long way to go to catch up with Las Vegas especially where neon signs are concerned.

Reno is fondly known as the biggest little city in the world, but that is quite a misleading statement. As cities go, Reno is not small at all and spreads its urban reach over more than a hundred and ten square miles of the Silver State. For those who like to be in the know about what they’re looking at, the arch was installed on Virginia Street in Downtown Reno way back in 1926 as part of a state exposition. That makes it almost a hundred years old which could be the reason it’s not working properly and spells Rero and not Reno.
