Ogilvie Transportation Center Webcams in Chicago

If ever the term spaghetti junction was applicable to a transport hub, then it applies to the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago. There are so many criss-crossed lines operating here, it’s enough to send anyone off the rails.

This Chicago transport hub on West Madison Street has been operating since 1911, but it’s anything but antiquated. Once the trains navigate their way through the maze of tracks they stop off to collect passengers from one of the eight island platforms in the station. Those passengers number in their tens of thousands daily and jump aboard services provided by Union Pacific North, West and Northwest. If trains don’t float their boat, they can always catch the connection that will drop them off at the Chicago Water Taxi embarkation point and continue their journey by water.
