Paynes Bay, St. James in Barbados

Paynes Bay in St James, is a beautiful spot on the west coast of Barbados. It’s renowned for its superb white sand beaches, luxurious resorts and immaculately kept golf courses. At first glance it appears to be the epitome of tranquillity and it is, until it gets dark.

Join Paynes Bay live feed one at any time and you’ll be gently lulled into a state of relaxation by the soft swish of the Caribbean Sea lapping against the shore. It’s totally delightful. The Paynes Bay feed two isn’t quite so therapeutic though. Join feed two after dark and you’ll need to put some ear plugs in as the Barbados nightlife is deafening. No, you won’t be listening to the pounding of disco beats from a local night club, but the ear splitting racket made by whistling frogs. Yes, you read that correctly, whistling frogs. Whistling frogs, or antilles coqui to give them their full title, are a species of amphibian native to Barbados. If you’ve never heard their, not so melodious, symphony before drop back when night falls over the island and have a listen. It’s really quite something.
