Tehachapi Live Train Webcams
These brilliant and super high quality webcams covering three areas around Tehachapi in exquisite detail give you a view to a construction of a bygone era which is still in use today. The ‘loop’ was built in 1874 for the purpose of making an easier grade over the Tehachapi pass. It only runs for 0.73 miles. Nowadays around 40 freight trains can be seen traversing it every day, making it exceptionally busy!
The team behind the cameras are all enthusiasts and have provided this and the two other angles – the Depot Railroad Museum and in Cable, 6 miles from the loop – from their fundraising efforts. Visit their Youtube page to see how to donate and keep these going.
good morning. i have watched the tehachapi railroad cams for years, but never asked about it. it is so cool to have left it on and suddenly hear a train going through.
