Cleveland Cityscape from the Water Crib
What’s a water crib apart from probably not the best place to view the Cleveland skyline by webcam from?
The crib is an intake station that sucks water from Lake Erie and sends it to treatment plants via a system of large underwater pipes. There’s a lot of water in Lake Erie and there needs to be as it not only provides the population of Cleveland with thirst quenching H20, but several other cities too.
Yes, this webcam view of the Cleveland skyline is a little blurry, but the crib is three and a half miles offshore. Try the feed at night. That’s when the lights of Cleveland twinkle like stars in a distant galaxy.
I have a fishing boat set up in the Chagrin River, and live midway between Cleveland and Akron. ( And yes, we have Cleveland water, which we drink and pay for ! ) Even though the marine reports give a general idea of what the lake is doing, I always check this live camera, with several others, to determine if I should make the 45 minute drive to go fishing.
Keep up the good work.
