There’s not many American cities that can be called quaint, but Portsmouth in New Hampshire is worthy of the word.

Skyscraper-free Portsmouth with it’s colorful buildings lining the harbor is reminiscent of a Scandinavian coastal fishing village. It’s a look that attracts plenty of summer visitors too, but beware, Portsmouth has an unforgettable effect on folk.
