The picturesque town of Dawlish is located in South Devon. Its railway line lies right alongside the coastline, which is part of the main line between Penzance (Cornwall) and London. During harsh weather, the sea can cause stormy waters to come into contact with passing trains and the surrounding structures suffer from constant erosion as a consequence.
